Scala – The Interesting Features
Scala offers a number of advanced features that make it attractive
to a wide range of users. It provides the possibility to derive additional signals
such as ECG or EMG via integrated electrophysiological inputs.
In addition to measuring airflow using a differential pressure nasal cannula,
the device also allows measurement of the patient’s respiratory airflow using a
thermistor.
Unbeatable Functionality
A sensor for snoring detection can be applied to the patient’s throat.
The integrated differential pressure measurement for monitoring
PAP and NIV therapies ensures high-quality detection of the flow signal,
especially at high and rapidly changing pressures.
In addition to pressure pad technology, Scala allows parallel or alternative
recording of respiratory movements using induction belts (RIP).
Electrode Inputs – Freely Configurable
Four freely configurable electrode connection ports can be used for various
electrophysiological tracings such as EMG, ECG, or EEG.
Online and Offline Operation
Scala supports both traditional offline measurement and
online measurement. An optional WLAN variant enables
both wired and wireless data transmission from the patient recorder to a computer.
Time-synchronized recording of video and audio signals is possible,
as well as synchronized integration of external analog signals from therapy devices
or transcutaneous CO₂ monitors.
